The ultimate collagen stimulation

Revolutionary, low risk and minimally invasive.

The new collagen stimulating treatment everyone needs.

What are firming PDO threads?

PDO threads come in many lengths and sizes. At Fab Clinic we only offer the mini threads as a collagen stimulating treatment. We DO NOT perform the long lifting thread procedure. I recommend to consult with cosmetic doctor for thread lift procedure.

All PDO  threads are made of Polydioxanone (PDO) a strong bio-resorbable suture filament. PDO sutures are not new, it’s been used in the general medical field and for more than 40 years. This is because of the proven safety record with the ability to dissolve completely after 4 to 6 months, leaving no residue. It’s an easy, minimally invasive procedure that is designed to restructure the dermis of the skin, stimulate collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, tighter skin.

How does PDO mini threads work

As we age, our bodies gradually produce less collagen. By the age of 70, you will have about 80% reduction in skin thickness. This loss of volume, thickness and strength leads to excess skin, and wrinkles. The function of collagen is to keep our skin smooth supple and stronger, in order for our skin to support the tissue beneath.

PDO threads provoke the body’s healing response, causing the production of new collagen in the area of treatment. This healing response also create cellular renewal and neovascularisation (new blood vessels to carry important oxygen and nutrients to the skin cells) resulting in improved skin texture, fine lines and elasticity.

What Can I expect

Prior to all treatments at Fab Clinic a full medical history will be taken and you will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns and expected outcomes. You will need to complete a consent form prior to your treatment and pre treatment photos will be taken. The area of treatment will be  thoroughly cleansed prior the procedure. Topical anaesthetic will be applied to the treatment area. The mono threads are inserted into the skin via a very fine needle. About 20 to 50 threads are usually inserted per treatment. You can experience bruising, swelling, redness and itching for up to week after your treatment. Side effects are rare but may include infection and or irritation. Some lifting and tightening of the skin may be seem immediately after the treatment, but is most likely due to swelling. Results can be noticed from 6 to 12 weeks after the treatment.

How soon can I return to normal activities?

Most people return to their normal activities soon after the treatment, however we do recommend to allow at least 3 weeks prior to big events such as weddings before your treatment. As the threads are applied by needle, you may experience some post treatment swelling, tenderness, bruising and redness that can last up to 14 days, but nothing that a little concealer can't hide.

Risks and side effects

Side effects and complications sometimes occur but are very rare with this treatment  Most people experience no side effects.  Minor and temporary side effects such as a small bruise at the insertion site can happen. Very superficial threads, may spontaneously come out, although this is a rare occurrence. Some people experience a prickly sensation where the threads was placed, lasting a few days. All risks will be discussed in detail at the time of your consultation. A full medical history will be discussed prior any treatment.

When can I expect to see a result

Results may be seen 6-12 weeks after the procedure and may last a minimum of 12 months. The procedure can repeated after 12 weeks and then annually or as required to continue to maintain your results. These  smooth PDO threads are often used in combination with other treatments such as Dermal Fillers and Botulinum toxin treatments.

The cost of a Mini PDO thread procedure varies depending on the amount of threads used. A typical treatment may require 30 to 50 threads ($495to $750) The total cost of your procedure will be discussed during your initial consultation.
